This month, Tampa Bay Literary Society welcomes a special guest, Liza Marie Garcia, COO of NOW Publishing, a national publisher headquartered in Tampa. Liza will walk us though how to create a book with lasting impact.

Ms Garcia’s Bio:
This former tech CEO founded one of the first telecommunications professional services firms in the United States when she was twenty-seven years old. She brought this company to market, building offices in Seattle and Portland before selling and moving into publishing in 2013. Her first book, Never Drink Coffee During a Business Meeting was featured on a West Coast Barnes & Noble book tour in the summer of 2017. Ms. Garcia is now Chief Operating Officer and an equity partner NOW Publishing, a multi-genre publishing house located in the Tampa area. She is a mother of two middle school daughters, part of the SMILE ministry at City Life Church in Tampa, and is devoted to her family and her church. She golfs, plays the violin and piano, and is a USTA tennis maniac. Ms. Garcia believes Jesus is the head of her household.

We will also be featuring art by Rosa Lea Addington.
Rosa Lea Addington is a life-long artist, mainly a painter, and after a 3-year art Albright Art School program in Buffalo, NY, she later went on to receive a BA at Purdue U. in W Laf., IN and finally an MA at Washington U. In St. Louis, MO.

She has taught art to people of all ages in Art Centers, public schools and in various colleges. She was also a co-director of a co-op gallery while living in Roswell, GA. Her work has won awards wherever she has lived.

STATEMENT BY THE ARTIST:

My response to the world of people places, and events, varies with the situation. The paintings are a combination of what’s seen, felt, and imagined. Each piece is a different drama.
